Creating a WebLogic domain for WebLogic Feature Pack management

To allow WebLogic Feature Pack to control WebLogic deployments successfully, use this guidance in the next table when configuring a WebLogic domain using the BEA WebLogic Configuration Wizard. For steps not listed, configure as usual.

Step, Selection, or Setting Discussion
Select a Configuration Template Choose the Basic WebLogic Server Domain template, which uses the managed server model.
Choose Express or Custom Configuration Choose Custom configuration because later you need to modify template settings.
Choose the Administration Server  
Configure the Administration Server For listen address, use the IP address or hostname of the application node in your Administration Server tier.

For listen port, select a port in accordance with the guidance in WebLogic Feature Pack and listen ports: what you should know.
Managed Servers, Clusters, and Machines Options Select Yes to customize the settings.

Configure Managed Servers Create managed servers to match maximum nodes in your Managed Server tier.
Configure Machines Create the same number of Unix machines as Managed Servers, using the same IP addresses/hostnames for the listen addresses.

If your application uses services external to your Cassatt Active Response environment, configure and verify the connectivity.
