Images and the image matrix: Troubleshooting

The following material outlines problems you may encounter with images, along with the steps to solve those problems.

Conflicts in /usr when updating Solaris 9 image

Description

When updating a Solaris 9 image, you may see files in /usr that appear as conflicts. If these files are not located within an instance-specific directory (see the image properties), these files do not actually conflict.

Resolution

Ignore these conflicts in /usr and select either "KEEP EXISTING" or "TAKE NEW" depending on how you want to resolve the other conflicting files. The files in /usr will be updated correctly.
