Recommended Hardware: Application Nodes and Power Controllers
Intended for use with Cassatt Active Response Standard Edition, Premium Edition and Data Center Edition V5.1.
Although Cassatt Active Response does not impose many restrictions on the hardware you use, Cassatt does have experience with and recommends several vendors. The following sections list hardware by vendor that Cassatt recommends for use as application nodes with Cassatt Active Response. Also, to anticipate the ways you can utilize application nodes in a Cassatt Active Response environment, see Understanding How Hardware Gets Under Cassatt Management.
Dell
The following table shows versions
of Dell's Remote Access Controller (RAC) cards supported
by Cassatt Active Response: ERA, DRAC III/XT, and DRAC 4/I. You can use server models with these RAC versions as application nodes, such as 750, 2650, 1750, 1950, and 2950. For a comprehensive
list of Dell hardware with accompanying RAC types, see Dell's
Remote Access Service Availability.

External power controllers
Application nodes that do not have an integrated power controller that's supported by Cassatt Active Response can still take advantage of Cassatt Active Response node management by using an external power controller. After you configure and add an external power controller to Cassatt Active Response, Cassatt Active Response can use it to power nodes on and off. Cassatt supports the controllers in the next table.
