Today you'll notice a little makeover of the Info Central site. First, we've published new content to support Cassatt Active Response 5.0. This primarily reflects the new Policy Manager software that automatically powers servers off and on based on user-defined power policies. This is really cool stuff that is available across the Cassatt Active Response 5.0 product line, but is the backbone of the Standard Edition.

Second, we've revamped our web site to line up our doc set with the new Cassatt Active Response product editions. Just follow the links on our home page to find the documentation that is specific for your product edition.

We've tried to call out in docs where procedures are specific to one product edition or another. However, this is an ongoing effort, and we'll be updating regularly to make those distinctions clearer.

Quite awhile ago, long before Cassatt revamped its product line to feature its power savings features, I blogged about how Cassatt's Active Response software could do that (see old blog here). At that time, I assembled a simple power usage calculator to give an idea of how much you might be spending on server power. Since that time, our technical marketing dept. has put together a much more comprehensive power savings calculator. Take a look and run some of the numbers for yourself. In today's go-green environment, it's pretty interesting to see how much power you consume and how much it costs to run your data center (and, oh by the way, I think Cassatt can help :-).

Remember several years ago (okay, I guess maybe it's been 2 or 3 decades now) when Datsun, the Japanese car company, slowly but surely converted their American brand to their corporate name, Nissan? We at Cassatt are undergoing a similar transition in our product branding. As of today, our product, up to now known as Cassatt Collage, is going to be called Cassatt Active Response. And our Web Automation Manager (WAM) is now going to go by the moniker of WebLogic Feature Pack.

Just like those initial Nissan owners, who probably had Datsun owner's manuals in their cars for some period of time, you'll see vestiges of our old product name on Info Central while we transition to the new product names. Over the next few months, we'll be tweaking and reorganizing our technical documentation on Info Central to better align with the new Cassatt Active Response product line and remove those old references.

So, in summary, if you read Collage or WAM, remember they translate as follows:

• Collage is now Cassatt Active Response
• WAM is WebLogic Feature Pack

As we comb through the entire Info Central site over the next weeks/months, pardon our inconsistencies.
