If you've checked out the Info Central home page, you can see that Collage V4.2 is now available. This rev features the new Collage QuickConfig capability that you can use to bring application servers under Collage control without having to capture application images. While QuickConfig doesn't provide the full range of Collage automation and dynamic resource allocation, it still guarantees service level agreements (SLAs) for your applications. This makes for a simplified implementation if you want to try out Collage or you want to start with minimal Collage automation. Using QuickConfig, you can introduce Collage utility computing to your environment at your own pace, starting with lightweight implementations and progressing to more sophisticated uses of Collage later on. The latest version of Collage adds a nice little feature that provides a detailed build ID string. (Actually, the feature was there before, it was just hard to find.) You can use this to identify the exact version of Collage you are using. This info is available from the footer on the Collage Controller (circled in red), which is accessible from every page in the UI: Clicking that link will display a fairly standard "About" dialog that shows the detailed build ID of the version of Collage you are currently running: In the event you need to talk to our support organization, give them this build ID string so they can track down the exact set of bits you are running at your site.
