What is Cassatt Corporation?
Cassatt helps companies run a green data center with innovative technologies and software solutions to maximize energy and operational efficiencies. The Cassatt Active Response product line is based on patent-pending Active Power Management technology that safely and intelligently powers servers off and on, based on demand, cutting an organization's energy usage by as much as 50 percent. Founded in 2003 with headquarter offices in San Jose, California, Cassatt is a private company with financial backing from Warburg Pincus and NEA (New Enterprise Associates).

What products does Cassatt currently offer?
Cassatt offers the Cassatt Active Response software product line, with four editions that meet the different needs of organizations to help make data centers more efficient. Cassatt Active Response is based on patent-pending Active Power Management technology that pools physical and virtual server resources for the most efficient utilization, and uses policy-driven controls to safely, intelligently, and systematically power servers off when not needed, and on when they are.

What does each edition of Cassatt Active Response do?
The four editions of the Cassatt Active Response product line deliver increased energy savings, better utilization of server assets, and increased application availability, while making it easier for customers to adopt incrementally. The product line includes:
- Cassatt Active Response, Standard Edition for increased energy efficiency
- Cassatt Active Response, Premium Edition for increased energy efficiency and application resiliency
- Cassatt Active Response, Data Center Edition for increased energy efficiency, high application availability, and server workload management in production environments
- Cassatt Active Response, Enterprise Edition for optimal control of all data center resources throughout an organization and across multiple geographies

How can Cassatt help a company "go green"?
By leveraging our experience in utility computing and data center automation, we are introducing the Cassatt Active Response product line, which uses innovative technology called Active Power Management to safely and intelligently turn off servers not in use, allowing customers to cut up to 50 percent of the energy usage in their data centers. Cassatt Active Response, Standard Edition and the Active Power Management technology provide a sensible, affordable, and non-invasive first step to help customers move toward a green data center.

Is Cassatt a virtualization provider?
No; rather, Cassatt’s Active Response product works closely with existing virtualization products to help manage and use those resources more efficiently. Virtualization of applications takes a great step toward utilization of hardware— Cassatt extends that capability to make better utilization of the data center.

How does the new Cassatt Active Response product line relate to Collage?
The new Cassatt Active Response product line combines Cassatt's Active Power Management and utility computing technologies based on Cassatt Collage into a single software suite. Collage will continue to be a core part of our offering, but as a component of our Premium and Data Center (and eventually Enterprise) editions. We have retired the Cassatt Collage brand name.

Who are Cassatt’s executive team members?
Starting with Bill Coleman, the Cassatt leadership team is comprised of seasoned executives, some of whom have been CEOs of their own successful companies. What is the origin of the company name?
Cassatt is named for the 19th Century Cassatt siblings. The sister, Mary, was a pioneer in American impressionism. The brother, Alexander, built the railroads and Penn Station that connected New York City to the rest of the country. Together, they were visionaries who invented new connections in art and business.
